"New Balance-LB Cabrillo Challenge" Has 6 Great
Games Set For Monday--(Jan. 19, 2003)

		LB Cabrillo vs. Lynwood

A few years ago, an event of this type would have received tons of advance publicity and would be seen as the top draw of the holiday weekend....But this year, we only just received word about the "New Balance-Long Beach Cabrillo MLK Day Challenge", which will be played on Monday, January 20 at LB Cabrillo High School and which will feature some of the top teams and best players in the region in 6 great games taking place in two sessions. Seriously. We just got an e-mail letting us know about the event, so there's really no time to delay in getting the word out. The promoters of the event haven't given us a complete schedule with starting times for all of the games, but on the assumption that each of the games will run about an hour-and-a-half apart, and the first one starts at 11:30 a.m., we're giving it our best educated guess that the schedule looks something like this:

Morning/Afternoon Session I

11:30 a.m.   LB Wilson vs. St. John Bosco
1:00 p.m.     Lakewood vs. Downey
2:30 p.m.     LB Jordan vs. Santa Margarita

Afternoon/Evening Session II

4:00 p.m.     LB Millikan vs. Sylmar
5:30 p.m.     LB Cabrillo vs. Lynwood
7:00 p.m.     LB Poly vs. Artesia
