CIF-SS Boys Division II-A Bracket:
Wild Card Game Results--(Feb. 20, 2003)

This is a 32-team bracket with  four "Wild-Card" games which were played yesterday, Wednesday, February 19.   Here are the scores, followed by details and an updated bracket so you can see where everyone will be playing on Friday:

Game A:  

Gahr 53, Sonora 52

Game B:  

Charter Oak 74, La Habra 64

Game C:  

Burroughs Burbank 79, Los Amigos 52

Game D: Tustin 58, Kennedy 51

Gahr 53, Sonora 52--Marques Williams made two free throws with .4 seconds remaining to give Gahr a 53-52 win at Gahr. Vincent Porter of Gahr finished with a team-high 13 points. Damon Leibig , who made two free throws with 13 seconds left, to give Sonora a 52-51 lead, had a game-high 20 points. Gahr (12-16) will play Mater Dei Friday in a first-round game.

Charter Oak 74, La Habra 64 --Patrick Fuller scored 24 points and Andrew Martinez had 21 points, nine assists and seven steals for host Charter Oak (14-13). La Habra finished 16-11.

Burbank Burroughs 79, Los Amigos 52 --Peter St. Hubert scored 20 points and Joey Paysinger scored 22 points to lead Burroughs (12-14).

Tustin 58, Kennedy 51 -- Kyle Hall had 17 points, seven rebounds and five assists and Steve Coulter had 15 points and five assists for visiting Tustin (17-8), which outscored Kennedy 16-6 in the third quarter and play at Rosemead. David Arreguin had 16 points for Kennedy (14-13).

All games with the exception of the final round will start at 7:30 p.m. unless another time is mutually agreed upon and clearance is received from the CIF-SS Office.  Public coin flips will be held in the lobby of the CIF-SS Office at 9:00 a.m. the day following each playoff game [these coin flips will determine subsquent sites after the first round, i.e., which school will be the host].  Coin flips will be available after 9:30 a.m. and we'll try to keep everyone posted with them here.
