CIF-SS Boys Division III-AA
Bracket:
Wild Card Results--(Feb. 20, 2003)
This is a 16-team bracket with six "Wild-Card" games which were played last night. Here's what happened along with the updated bracket based on those results:
Game A: Newbury Park 75, Culver City 65--Chris
Nooney had 34 points and Randy Meru added 20 points to lead host Newbury Park (14-12).
Austin Waggener netted 18 points to pace Culver City (12-11).
Game B: Servite 61, Pioneer 45--Blake Wallace scored 16 points and Garrett Love added 14
in the wild-card triumph for the visiting Friars (14-13).
Game C: Oxnard Pacifica 49, Mountain View 37 --David
Van Someren scored 14 points and Deaven Washington scored 10 points and had 10 rebounds to
lead Pacifica (17-9).
Game D: Barstow 71, Palm Desert 44-- The Aztecs (12-14) were just outmanned last night
against a stronger Barstow team, which went on a 20-7 run in the fourth quarter to put the
game away. Quintin Watkins finished with nine points and 11 rebounds for Palm Desert.
Barstow will play .
Game E: Bonita 52, Pomona 45--details not available.
Game F: Santa Margarita 57, Western 40--Todd Follmer
had 24 points and Shawn Grady had 10 for visiting Santa Margarita (17-8). Wilmer Fiapai
had 12 points and 12 rebounds for Western (14-13). Todd Follmer had 13 rebounds for Santa
Margarita.

All games with the exception of the final round will start at 7:30 p.m. unless another time is mutually agreed upon and clearance is received from the CIF-SS Office. Public coin flips will be held in the lobby of the CIF-SS Office at 9:00 a.m. the day following each playoff game [these coin flips will determine subsquent sites after the first round, i.e., which school will be the host]. Coin flips will be available after 9:30 a.m. and we'll try to keep everyone posted with them here.
