Division IV-A boys bracket

The first round of this bracket only saw six games being played last night. Here's what happened and what the updated bracket looks like:

Chadwick 56, Woodcrest Christian 39--Matt Fournier had 22 points for Chadwick (6-14) and Mike Wagner scored 13 points for host Woodcrest Christian (13-11). Chadwick faces top-seeded Verbum Dei on the road Friday at 7:30 p.m. in the second round. Wes Putnam added 11 points and nine rebounds and Chris Radeski had 10 points and 10 rebounds.

Arrowhead Christian 75, Desert 50 --Tyler Light had 24 points and Nathan Botton added 17 points for Arrowhead Christian (14-11). James Belcher scored 10 points to pace host Desert (10-9). ACA led 41-17 at halftime.

Viewpoint 65, Boys Republic 50 --Matt Mosko had 35 points and 12 rebounds, and Geoff Chizever added 15 points to lead Viewpoint (12-10) to its first playoff win in school history (43 years). Host Boys Republic goes to 14-7.

Sage Hill 57, Hamilton 47 --Michael Fitzhugh scored 24 points for visiting Sage Hill (11-13), the third-place team from the Academy League. Anza Hamilton, the Big Sky League champion, finished 17-5. The game was Hamilton's first ever home playoff game, as it was coming off a fine regular season in which they recorded a team record 17 wins. Hamilton finished with an overall record of 17-5.

Desert Christian Lancaster 79, Sherman Indian 75--details not available.

All games with the exception of the final round will start at 7:30 p.m. unless another time is mutually agreed upon and clearance is received from the CIF-SS Office. Public coin flips will be held in the lobby of the CIF-SS Office at 9:00 a.m. the day following each playoff game [these coin flips will determine subsquent sites after the first round, i.e., which school will be the host]. Coin flips will be available after 9:30 a.m. and we'll try to keep everyone posted with them here.
