CIF-SS Boys Division V-AA Bracket Updated:
Thursday Game Results--(Feb. 21, 2003)

There was one game played on Thursday in Division V-AA. Here's what happened (according to the LA Times and a report posted on the message forum), along with the updated bracket:

Hesperia Christian 63, La Sierra Academy 58--Aja Ajanwachuku had 23 points for Hesperia Christian (19-7). Giorgio Zamorano had 25 points for host La Sierra Academy (20-6). [LA Times]. "Hesperia Christian beat La Sierra Academy last night in a D-5AA second round game. Ajanwachuku (Hesperia) scored in 23 for Hesperia and Zamorano (La Sierra) went for 25, in a losing effort. Game decided in the last 25 seconds when Hesperia made an excellent defensive steal to seal the win." [SoCalHoops Message Forum].

Here's the updated bracket. Hesperia will likely see defending Section Champion, Rolling Hills Prep in the Quarterfinals next Tuesday. The location of the game should be at Hesperia, because RHP will have already had two home games if it makes it to the QF's as we fully expect the Huskies will do:

All games with the exception of the final round will start at 7:30 p.m. unless another time is mutually agreed upon and clearance is received from the CIF-SS Office. Public coin flips will be held in the lobby of the CIF-SS Office at 9:00 a.m. the day following each playoff game [these coin flips will determine subsquent sites after the first round, i.e., which school will be the host]. Coin flips will be available after 9:30 a.m. and we'll try to keep everyone posted with them here.
