CIF-SS Boys Division V-A Bracket:
Wild Card Results--(Feb. 20, 2003)

This is a 32-team bracket which had two "play in" wild card games last night.  Here's what happened in each along with the updated bracket.  Remember, first round games are Friday night, February 21.

Game A:   Palm Valley 42, Twin Pines 40-- Palm Valley (20-3) picked up the win over visiting Twin Pines on Wednesday and will advance to face Mesrobian on Friday night.  Wednesday’s game went down to the wire as Palm Valley’s Tim Shannon hit a pair of free throws with 1.8 seconds remaining to nail down the victory. Shannon also had seven steals.  Jordan Liebling led Palm Valley with 15 points and Colin Kirkpatrick had eight points and eight rebounds.

Game B:  Peace in the Valley 64, Immanuel Christian 38--Junior guard Steven Stott scored 18 of his game-high 33 points in the second half and grabbed 14 rebounds as the Eagles (15-6) earned a victory in their first playoff appearance by defeating the visiting Crusaders (11-11) in a Division V-A wild-card game.   Senior forward Josh Felix added 18 points, six rebounds and four assists for Peace in the Valley, which will play a first-round game at Renaissance Academy at 7:30 p.m. Friday.

All games with the exception of the final round will start at 7:30 p.m. unless another time is mutually agreed upon and clearance is received from the CIF-SS Office.  Public coin flips will be held in the lobby of the CIF-SS Office at 9:00 a.m. the day following each playoff game [these coin flips will determine subsquent sites after the first round, i.e., which school will be the host].  Coin flips will be available after 9:30 a.m. and we'll try to keep everyone posted with them here.
