CIF-SS Semifinals: Schedules, Locations & Maps
For Tomorrow's Games--(Mar. 3, 2003)

All of the CIF-SS Semifinal playoff games which were not already concluded this past weekend are scheduled to take place tomorrow night, Tuesday, March 4, 2003. Divisions I-AA, I-A, II-AA, II-A and V-A will see action tomorrow night, with all games taking place at "alternate sites." We've been through this so many times it sounds like a broken record, but an "alternate site" is any site selected by the "host team" at which the host school has not held a practice session during the season. It is not supposed to be a neutral site, nor is there any such requirement. In fact the host team might have played some home games there during the season. But for some reason, the key to what can and can't be an alternate site is the practice restriction....don't ask us, we're just repeating what we know.

In any event, this meant that after Saturday night's quarterfinals, those teams which survived and were allowed to be the host teams for the semifinals (a "host team" is the one which has played the least number of home games during the prior rounds of the playoffs--if both teams have played the same number of home games, there was a coin flip held in the lobby of the CIF offices yesterday to determine who would be "host."), and that further meant that the host teams only had one day to secure "alternate sites" for the games. Well, that's been accomplished and now we know where the games will be played.

We've got all the information you'll need if you want to attend one of these games. All games will tip-off at 7:30 p.m..
