2003 Elite 8 Summer California Hoops
Challenge Starts Next Monday--(June 25, 2003)

	What: Elite 8 California Hoops Challenge
	Where: Lynwood HS, Lynwood, CA
	When: Monday June 30 through Wednesday, July 2
	Who: 8 Top SoCal Teams Teams include: Westchester, King Drew, Long Beach Poly, Crenshaw, El Camino, Dominguez, Lynwood, Compton Centennial

Rodney Guillory asked us to pass along the essential information about the Elite 8 Summer Shootout California Hoops Challenge (whew....that's a long name...) which will take place starting next Monday, June 30 and continuing through Wednesday, July 2 at Lynwood HS. Here's the schedule for the first day:

Monday, June 30, 2003

2:00 p.m. Long Beach Poly vs. Crenshaw
3:30 p.m. El Camino vs. Dominguez
5:00 p.m. Lynwood vs. Compton Centennial
6:30 p.m. Westchester vs. King Drew

The tournament will be run with a standard 8 team bracket, and the top two seeds appear to be Westchester at No. 1 and Centennial at No. 2 (since they sit at the top and bottom of the bracket, respectively). Games will continue through Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. (losers of the Monday 6:00 and 2:00 p.m. games), again at 3:30 p.m. (Losers of ther Monday 3:30 andn 5:00 p.m. games) and followed by the winner's bracket side at 5:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.

On Wednesday, the 7th/8th place game will be at 2:00 p.m., 6th/5th (consolation championship) will be at 3:00 p.m., the 3rd/4th place game will be at 5:00 p.m., followed by the Championship Game at 6:30 p.m.
