Nike Extravaganza IX Set To Roll On Jan. 24,2004 At LMU--(Oct. 2, 2003)

The 9th Annual Nike Extravaganza is still more than four months away, but it's never too early to mark your calendars. As always, the event will be  hosted by Mater Dei, and our friend Steve Kasper, who handles the media relations for the event, sent us an e-mail to alert everyone that there has been a slight change this year: 

While the event has been held for the past three years at Long Beach State's Pyramid, a wonderful venue for hoops, this year, the event will move from Long Beach State to Loyola-Marymount, where it will be played in the Gersten Pavilion.  The change was necessitated because of scheduling problems encountered by the LBSU folks, but for most of us who live closer to the Westside of Los Angeles rather than Long Beach, the change of venue is not unwelcome news.  

This year, the two featured games will be Mater Dei vs. Bishop O'Dowd and Westchester vs. Oak Hill Academy.  No doubt these games, as well as the others which will be played throughout the day, will be a sellout.   Tickets are not yet available, but they will be soon, so don't miss out.   We'll have a lot more on this event as it gets closer, but in the meantime, mark your calendars because you won't want to miss it.
