Division V-A boys bracket

3/7/04 Update: Congratulations to Los Angeles Price HS, the reigning 6-time CIF-SS Division V-A Champions, and to Antelope Valley Christian, the CIF-SS Division V-A runner-up.

This was a 32-team bracket with no wild card games, and with only 1 "bye" in the first round, which goes to (surprise, surprise)....you guessed it: Price, the No. 1 seed, and five-time defending section and State Champion, which was trying for yet another record 6th straight title in both CIF-SS, State Southern Regional, and the State Division V championship. The other three seeds went to No. 2 Desert Chapel, No. 3 Antelope Valley Christian, and No. 4 Renaissance Academy. All first round games took place on Friday, February 20, and concluded on March 4 with the finals at LMU. Here's a look at the bracket:

All games with the exception of the final round will start at 7:30 p.m. unless another time is mutually agreed upon and clearance is received from the CIF-SS Office. Public coin flips will be held in the lobby of the CIF-SS Office at 9:00 a.m. the day following each playoff game [these coin flips will determine subsquent sites after the first round, i.e., which school will be the host]. Coin flips will be available after 9:30 a.m. and we'll try to keep everyone posted with them here.
