El Toro (15-1) Underrated team over-achieved last year, and this year if everyone returns could be a contender. Ashkan Nazeri, Matt Green, Ken Tanaka, and Chris Parrish should be back for Elite 8 finisher.
Crescenta Valley (12-3) James Jenkins is playing consistently well, but Jimmy Goffredo has been hurt and hasn't played well or regularly since before they went to Vegas.  Chris Tarne picking up the scoring slack as well.
San Clemente 11-2 Handed their first preseason loss in an overtime game against Crescenta Valley,  and frankly, we don't recall the second loss, but it was last week. This team could also challenge for a section title behind the scoring of Tim Burnette and some clutch play from Eli Owens, James Hartman, Matt King, Jordan Fleener and Curtis Bush.
Glendora (14-2) Mike Mehanna, Spencer Foster, Evan Lynch and a few other returnees will keep Glendora near the top of the division.  How near is the question. Thus far have been over-achieving, but they are very well coached and motivated.
Warren (13-3) Lost Curtis Williams (18.7 ppg), but return big scorers Julian Assibey and Aaron Hobbensiefken, as well as several other solid role players like  Jimmy Shull, and Harold Fairweather. Will rebuild, but have a good base.
Loyola (10-3, 1-0) Omar Wilkes, Sean Crosner, Matt Llewellyn lead this group of very under-rated, and as yet unproven players.
Thousand Oaks (11-4) Knocked off Notre Dame Sherman Oaks this past Saturday.  Lost some big scoring with the graduation of Tim Chevalier, but  Kyle Kegley has more than made up for it. David Anderson and some other tough guards have helped.
Mission Viejo (11-5) Lost four seniors, but return a big junior class in Travis Niesen (6'-7" Jr. PF), Erik Engstrom (6'-6" Jr. C), David Johnson (6'-6" Sr. C), and solid guards like Mykel Valentine, Brad Campbell, Osvaldo Gudino, Greg Villanueva, and Joel Zamora.
San Gorgonio (10-6) Shawn Buckingham, 6-3 guard Tykie Harris and sophomore 5-10 guard Kevin Houston have been producing some good results, including a third place at the San Bernardino Kiwanis Tournament.
Righetti (10-7) Last loss was to Arroyo Grande, but they are a solid team, one of the best in the Central Coast region.
Aliso Niguel (10-6) Graduated 3 starters accounting for 34 ppg, but return some talented guards like Dino Lamela, Shaun Garcia, Brandon Sievers, Ramy Farag, Don Nguyen, and big scorer Zach Zanolli, along with Ricky Ebel, Brandon Alconcel, Scott Sporleader Kyle Hanson, Chris Buchert.
Rancho Verde (9-7) Haven't performed as well as we thought they would, but JS Nash has been inconsistent, and missed several games in December. The good news is that they're learning how to win whether Nash is there or not.
Cajon (9-6) Team loses Blake Walker to graduation and Paul Roby to prep school but they return Donovan Morris, Nick Norman, Larry Dew, Tony Danridge, Rummel Clark, Romale Porter, Mike De Arman, Andre Clark, Kris Silvas, Danial Cooper, Andre Payne and Dmytry Lewis.  A solid crew.
Quartz Hills Tony Johnson has been an excellent scorer for Quartz Hills in the preseason, and teammate Josh Porter has contributed some solid play as well.
Montclair (9-6) Milton Stanley has been a prolific scorer, while Demetris Walk has played great defense and provided some offense as well..  Teammate Quincy Fields has provided depth on the boards, both offensively and defensively.
Murrieta Valley (9-5) Dan Larsen, CJ Richardson, and several others have played well in the early preseason.
Irvine (9-8) David Cox and Massud Naderi have had the hot hand for the Vaqueros in the early pre-season.
Camarillo (9-8) Camarillo had guard Ian Campbell, forward Jared Jungwirth and Jimmy Alstot who will lead the team this year.
Silverado (8-7) Silverado has played inconsistently, but still shows promise
San Gabriel (9-7) They're short, but they seem to be winning more than losing lately.
