| Long Beach Poly | Lost Wesley Stokes and Joe Travis to graduation, but return strongest team in the division, with Markee White, Marcedes Lewis, Carlos Rivers, Jono Harper. Defending D-IAA Champs should repeat, but will be challenged by a few like Upland.
| Upland | Very tough squad, UNLV-signee Kirk Snyder, Sheldon Pace, Prentice Harris, Lionel Davis and Tye-Juan Hatter make them a contender. Quarterfinals last year, could be finalist this year
| Canyon Springs | Arizona State-signee Jason Braxton, soph Richard Cobbs, Howard and Royal Tayloar and Marcus Carver make up a talented squad. Should have better chemistry
| Fontana | Two of the "Fab Three" are gone, but Trayvon Williams and a very talented team remain
| Oxnard | Only lose 5 players; Matthew Merricks is gone, but they have some excellent guard play, and top D-I prospect Nicholas Curtis, as well as All-League junior point guard Jonathan Davis and junior forward Lee Abair.
| Eisenhower | Return Johnny Dukes, Denote Nelson, Sean Marshall, Joell Hart, and Alex Acker. Sweet 16 team should be better this year

| Peninsula | Lose a little to graduation, but gain from returning player maturity. Kevin Gardner will lead along with Ryan Johnson, Phil Baxter, Jay Lescoulie, Andrew Nyim, and Austing Cinnzmoad
| Leuzinger | Derrick Clark is reason enough to put this team here
| Miller, AB | Currently 7-0;
| Jordan | Travon Bryant is gone, but Keith Rogers, Anthony Massey, Rashawn Childs, Ron Banks, Donald Williams, Clay Salima and Donte Cottrell should all return.

| Etiwanda | Lost Reco Wright and Romel Beck to graduation, but most of their other offensive weapons return, including Jonathan Boyd and Jason Burrell.
| LB Millikan | Could be a darkhorse in the division and may sneak up on some people.
| Fountain Valley | Forward Matt Ball and guard Tucker Fendon have helped Fountain Valley to get off to a good start this season. We'll see if it lasts.
| Ayala | Litigation settled, now it's back to business. Lost a lot to graduation, but Dontaa Donald, Ken Quinn, Kyle Gregory and Danny Stephens return to an always tough team. Hard to replace Chris Pacana, Marcel Burke, Malik Jones, Mike Sterling, Chase Jones, and DJ Lucas, but a huge base of students to draw on.
| Rialto | Daryl Diggins, and Gales have been the two mainstays in the preseason from what we can tell. Struggled a bit against some teams, but they have excellent potential. Keep an eye on them.
T | Downey | Downey has managed a 5-4 preseason record thus far, and with Steve Topete and Aaron Perez, along with Nathan Black and George Zumbarakis, and Danny Mendiola (related to ???), they will be improving.
