Not Many Other Games Yesterday;
Easy To Report--(Jan. 18, 2000)

Apparently other than the Nike Dream Classic, there were just two other games in the Southern Section played, and none involving City Section teams.  Here's who played

Liberty League

Buckley 55, Holy Martyrs 43--Buckley (12-2, 5-0), currently ranked 9th in the CIF Division V poll, picked up it's fifth league win at Holy Martyrs to remain atop the Liberty league standings along with Providence, currently ranked No. 4 in the CIF D-IVA poll. Colin Ward Henninger (6'-4" Jr. SG/SF) had 15 points and 10 rebounds, while David Gale (6'-0" So. PG) had 8 points, 9 assists and 6 steals. Others scoring were Adam Pastor 9, Alex Clancy 6, and Jake Scanell 6.

Non-League

Santa Margarita 91, Temple City 51--Adam Tancredi scored 11 of his 19 points in the opening quarter as the host Eagles (15-4), currently ranked No. 7 by the Orange County Sportswriters, and ranked No. 6 in the CIF D-IIA poll, took a 24-15 lead.  Tancredi and Anthony Ansevin also had 10 rebounds.
