CIF News: Cebrun, Basketball
Honcho To Move--(Jan. 10, 2000)
Speaking of "move-ups", there have also been a few "move-ons" in the Southern Section basketball and sports hierarchy in the past week, including this one. We usually read the CIF press releases when they're issued, but we somehow missed this one from last week. Here it is:
CERRITOS -- Dr. Harold Cebrun, CIF Southern Section Assistant Commissioner, has accepted the position of Superintendent for the Lynwood Unified School District, effective December 31, 1999.
"The entire staff joins me in wishing Harold well on his new endeavor," said CIF-SS Commissioner of Athletics Dr. Jim Staunton. "He will be missed by those who worked with and for him."
The search for a replacement will begin immediately with an announcement of a new Assistant Commissioner expected by February 4, 2000. Job announcements and details can be obtained at the CIF-SS Office or at any member school.
Harold Cebrun was the assistant commissioner in charge of basketball, and he's been in that position for the last. . . well, it's been a long time. Dr. Cebrun has done a great job and he'll be hard to replace. We wish him all the best in his new position.
