division 4 polls

Below is the latest CIF Southern Section's official top 10 poll for Division IV. St. Bernard in D-IVAA and Crossroads in IVA remain at the No. 1 spots. There has been some minor movement; in Division IVAA, Oak Park has dropped out of the top 10 and Beaumont has moved up and is now ranked No. 10. In IVA, Verbum Dei, last week's No. 3 team is not ranked at all; Providence has moved down one from 4 to 5; new this week to the poll are Brentwood, Village Christian and Santa Ana Calvary Chapel. In addition to Verb dropping out, St. Genevieve has joined the "others" and Whittier Christian is not ranked. Of course, we're only just approaching the second round of league play for many of the teams in larger leagues, so a lot can happen between now and the playoffs.

The poll is compiled by the SCIBCA (Southern California Interscholastic Basketball Coaches Association). Basically each division is composed of a committee consisting of a number of coaches who review standings, strength of schedule, results and the like. Committee members submit their respective votes and these are compiled and tabulated and the result is what you see below. Polls will be issued weekly by the CIF Southern Section office. This should also be posted up on the Southern Section website either this evening or by tomorrow at the latest.
