Louis Johnson Leaving Long Beach
P-T For OC Register--(Jan. 25, 2000)

Even though his final Preps column in today's Long Beach Press-Telegram doesn't mention it, Louis Johnson, one of the best prep reporters, and one of the hardest-working guys you'll ever meet, will be moving on to the Orange County Register starting at the end of this month, where he'll join another former P-T'er, Frank Burlison.

It's been great

Unfortunately, this is my final column and my final week as Prep Sports Editor at the Press-Telegram.

The eight years I have spent involved with the coverage of prep sports in this area have been among the most enjoyable of my life. The experience has left me with a lifetime of memories, and I'll always have a soft spot in my heart for the athletes from the Long Beach area.

I have spent my entire professional life under the tutelage of some great men and women at the Press-Telegram, and there are not enough words to describe my feelings for all of you.

It's been a great run, and I'll never forget where the race started.

But lest you miss Louis for too long, remember, he'll soon be appearing at the OC Register. Until then, thanks Louis, for all of the great work. Long Beach will miss you. But just for a little while. . .
