Jan. 15: LA City Section Marine League
MLK Showcase Set--(Jan. 3, 2000)

Hey, not everyone will be at Long Beach City College on Saturday January 15, 2000 for the adidas Double Pump Hoop Challenge featuring 16 top teams from SoCal. Nope. Some folks will be at Harbor City College instead for a new event sponsored by the LA City Section. We just got word of this one from the LA City Section, and thought we'd pass it along: The Marine League (Banning, Carson, Narbonne, San Pedro, Gardena, and Washington) will be holding their own City Section MLK weekend event, showcasing the basketball teams from all schools within the league. The Marine league will hosting an all day event at Harbor College on Saturday, January 15, 2000. The event will consist of regular season varsity games starting at 11:00 a.m. with the San Pedro vs. Narbonne boys' game, with further match-ups continuing throughout the day. These will be boys and girls games; sorry, no JV games (which will be held on their regularly scheduled day.) We don't have a clue about ticket prices for the event, but if you're a fan of any of these schools, then you'll probably want to check it out.
