Girls Division IV-AA bracket updated 2/29/00

We don't have many of the details from the semifinal round played this past Saturday night, but at least we can update the bracket. Here's what we know:

Morro Bay 53, St. Paul 33--Karena Bonds scored 20 points as the top-seeded Pirates (19-6) won a IV-AA quarterfinal at California High.

Valley Christian Cerritos 55, Oak Park 52--Susie Boogaard scored 30 points for the Crusaders (23-6) in the IV-AA semifinal victory at Agoura. Kim Bryan made four of five three-point shots in the first quarter to help Oak Park to an 18-11 lead. Bryan finished with 15 points and Holly Stewart scored 16 for the Eagles (16-9). The Crusaders (23-6) opened the second half with a 7-0 run that gave them a 33-29 lead. Oak Park tied the score, 41-41, with six minutes left on a layup by Stewart, but Boogaard scored her final nine points in the next five minutes before fouling out. Jamila Veasley had 15 points and eight rebounds for Valley Christian.
