Girls Division V-A Bracket:
First Round Pairings--(Feb 13, 2000)

So much for the "at-large" team rush. . . Division V-A, the last of the brackets is another 32 team bracket, and gee, there are how many "at-large" entries?  Let's see. . . .one.  Just one.  Maricopa form the Coast Valley League.  The rest of the bracket involves a lot of first round byes (given to the league champions, where possible) and a lot of games between some No. 2, 3 and 4 league finishers in the first round.

Once again, it looks like the guys who put this thing together (five current and former CIF commissioners--Ray Plutko, a former CIF Southern Section Commissioner, Dean Crowley, also a former CIF-SS Commissioner, Jim Staunton, current CIF-SS Commissioner, Hal Harkness, the former LA CIF Section Commissioner, and Paul Castillo, the new Assistant Commissioner of Basketball for the Southern Section), presumably knew what they were doing.   If you don't agree, complain to them, not us.  The first round will be played on Thursday, February 17, 2000.  There after, the rounds are as indicated below:
