Boys Division IV-A Quarterfinals
Game Details--(Feb 23, 2000)

Here are the game details from the IV-A  quarterfinal games from Tuesday night, February 22.  Check the updates on the bracket for semifinal matchups in this division:

Division IV-A

Orange Lutheran 74, Riverside Notre Dame 66--Jason Whieldon had 28 points, 13 rebounds and 10 steals for top-seeded Orange Lutheran in the quarterfinal victory at Concordia University. Riverside Notre Dame (11-15) stayed close with top-seeded Orange Lutheran (23-4)  but couldn't shut down Orange County's leading scorer, Jason Whieldon. Notre Dame sophomore Talani Calhoun scored a season-high 31 points. The Titans' Quentin Freeman scored 13 of his 15 points in the first-half and fouled out in the final two minutes.NOTRE DAME (67) -- McKenzie 4, Johnson 4, Freeman 15, Sanders 9, Calhoun 31, Dial 2, Hodges 2. ORANGE LUTHERAN (74) -- Gavin 4, Whieldon 28, Bistol 10, Salyer 20, Nault 4, Smith 6, Nath 2. Halftime score -- Orange Lutheran 34-27. Three-point goals -- Sanders, Calhoun 3, Whieldon 5. Total fouls -- Notre Dame 17, Orange Lutheran 18. Fouled out -- Freeman.

St. Bonaventure 59, Whittier Christian 50--Michael Perez had 19 points, including four three-point baskets, and six assists for visiting St. Bonaventure (21-4) in a quarterfinal game at Troy High.  David Berglund and Raul Zermeno each scored 14 points for the Seraphs, who have never reached the semifinals before. Zermeno also had four assists. 

Milken Community 55, Calvary Chapel Santa Ana 38--Bobby Bassman had 19 points and 20 rebounds to lead visiting Milken Community (19-3). Alex Raminfar added 14 points and 18 rebounds for Milken Community.

Crossroads 79, Silver Valley 43--Felipe Williams scored 20 points, and 6-foot-10, 270-pound junior center Isaiah Fox had 17 points as the visiting Roadrunners (20-9) ran over the Trojans (15-13) in the quarterfinals of the Division IV-A playoffs at the Fort Irwin Fitness Center. Jordan Rush added 14 points, and Crossroads frustrated Silver Valley with an aggressive, double-team, full-court press. The Trojans were too small for Crossroads, which got scoring from 10 players and has five players who are 6-foot-5 or bigger. Silver Valley's biggest player is 6-4. Junior forward Jonas Blankenship led Silver Valley with 13 points, and Ricky James had 12 points for the Trojans, which finished with only 21 rebounds. Silver Valley was within 26-21 with 2:34 to play in the first half when the Roadrunners went on a 12-0 run to lead 38-21. In the third quarter, Crossroads outscored Silver Valley 23-4 to make it a rout.
