A Few More HS Coaching
Vacancies To Be Filled--(Mar. 27, 2000)

Just about everywhere we go these days, coaches ask us whether we know of whree the vacancies are at the high school level. Well, we don't know much more than we read in the papers or what others tell us, but here are a few more openings we came across last week in the OC Register and the LA Times OC Editions:

Costa Mesa High is looking for a boys' varsity coach. Interested candidates should call Kirk Bauermeister at (714) 424-8708.

Edison High is looking for not only a new boys' varsity coach but also a varsity girls' coach.  Those interested in finding out about the job should contact Bruce Belcher at Edison High, (714) 962-1356, Ext. 303

Huntington Beach HS has an opending for a girls' varsity coach. Interested and qualified candidates should call (714) 536-2514 to obtain further information about applying for the job.

Huntington Beach will also have an opening for the boys' varsity as well, but it won't last long.  Long-time coach Roy Miller announced last week that he will take next season off to spend more time with his family. James Dingus, an assistant, is expected to replace him.  A graduate of Huntington Beach, Miller coached the Oilers for 23 seasons and compiled a record of 256-297. Huntington Beach won just seven games in the last two seasons. Miller has not ruled out a return to coaching after the 2000-2001 season
