Temple City Boys' Coach
Rich Hollinger Steps Down--(Mar. 17, 2000)
This report is actually about 10 days late, and it was announced more than a week ago in the San Gabriel Valley Tribune, but we're just catching up with some news that we had neglected while the State and Section tournaments were in full gear. Temple City's boys' coach, citing a need for a break, stepped down after nine years running the program. Hollinger said he will continue to teach at Temple City High School, but the break will enable him to spend more time with his wife and young son. He has not ruled out a return to coaching. Temple City finished the season 12-11 overall, 6-4 in Rio Hondo League, good enough for third-place. In the Division II-A playoffs, the Rams were defeated by Laguna Hills in the first round.
