Andrew Zahn Commits to Arizona--(March 10, 2000)

The Daily Breeze, apparently getting the drop on everyone (how often does that happen that a traditional media source now scoops the recruiting gurus?) is reporting in today's edition that Redondo High senior center Andrew Zahn (6'-9" Sr. PF) announced on Thursday that has committed to play at the University of Arizona.  Zahn chose the Wildcats over UCLA and Oregon State.  A four-year starter, Zahn was named the Bay League co-Most Valuable Player for the second straight year as he helped the Sea Hawks to a 24-5 record and a trip to the semifinals of the Southern Section playoffs. Despite being double- and triple-teamed, Zahn averaged 15.3 points and 9.6 rebounds this season. Last season he averaged 19.9 points, 11.7 rebounds and 4.4 blocks en route to earning the Daily Breeze Player of the Year honor. As a sophomore, he averaged 19.2 points, 9.7 rebounds and 3.1 blocks.
