Tillers Hire Richard Bossenmeyer
As Tustin Head Coach--(Apr. 18, 2000)
According to Steve Fryer's column yesterday in the Orange County Register, Richard Bossenmeyer has been hired at Tustin as the new boys' varsity head coach. Bossenmeyer replaces Andy Ground who resigned last spring, at the end of the 1998-99 season. Following Ground's resignation, former Tustin coach Tom McCluskey returned to act as interim coach, but he resigned during the summer. McCluskey was replaced by former Tustin player Jeff Aguilar, who had been coaching one of lower level boys' teams at Tustin. Aguilar resigned at the end of the 1999-2000 season. Bossenmeyer has been an assistant coach at Cal State Fullerton for the past few years, but when coach Bob Hawking was fired, so was the rest of the staff at Fullerton. Prior to coaching at Cal State Fullerton, Bossenmayer had been an assistant coach in the CBA with the Rapid City Thrillers. Prior thereto, he had been the boys' varsity coach at Orange, where he was selected by the Orange County Register as its "Coach of the Year".
