CSUF Titans' Pick Up Pure
Shooter Ryan Dillon--(Apr. 27, 2000)
Once again, thanks to Dave and Mark at Recruiting USA, who are reporting that Donny Daniels has received his first commitment to the Titans' program, Ryan Dillon (6'-2" Sr. SG) from Victor Valley HS in Victorville. Dillon is a solid shooter who averaged 22.8 points, 6.3 rebounds, 3.8 assists, and 2.7 steals this season. In the playoffs he upped the ante, averaging 24 points per game. Dillon also made 105 3's, eclipsing his old record for a season of 81. For his career, the four-year varsity player scored nearly 1,500 points, putting him second all-time on the VVHS list. Dillon was being recruited by Daniels during his time at Utah, and he was also pursued by UOP, UC Davis, Davidson, Bucknell, Florida AM, and Long Beach State. Dillon should ably fill the gap created by the loss of Titan's leading scorer Ike Harmon, a senior this past season.
Since this is the "quiet period" part of the late signing period (which means that coaches can only have contact with recruits on- campus) Daniels is also reportedly hosting Chris Smith (5'-10" Sr. PG) from San Bernardino Pacific, a solid point guard who led his team to the Division I-A Southern Section semifinals in a losing effort against Mater Dei. Smith was selected First Team All-CIF Southern Section and was chosen by Cal-Hi to the All-State team.
The Titans have a minimum of three scholarships to give this year with the graduations of seniors Ike Harmon, Kenroy Jarrett and Mark Murphy.
