Rockfish Spring League Schedule
For This Weekend--(Apr. 4, 2000)
What: Rockfish Spring League
Where: Los Angeles City College (no, not Valley College)
Located on Vermont Avenue, just north of the 101 Freeway, and just south of Santa Monica
Blvd.
When: Saturday April 8, Sunday April 9
Who: Top SoCal Players
NCAA Certified League
For those of you who read the Orange County Register this morning, Steve Fryer wrote an interesting and informative story about some of the seniors who will be playing this weekend at RSL. . . great piece (we'll do a separate article on it) but for now we just thought we'd point out there's only one problem: If you read Fryer's article, please disregard the location. We can assure you that RSL will not be at LA Valley College this weekend, but if you're out in Van Nuys, be sure to say hello to whoever is playing. . . Rockfish will be held where it's usually held, at LA City College. We know a lot of coaches will be out in force, and there will be quite a few East Coast and Midwest schools in attendance as well as the usual suspects from the Western states.
We've previously posted the complete Rockfish Spring League schedules and the rosters, and while there has been some tweaking of the rosters from time to time, they look to be pretty well set. But just when the teams get set for the remainder of the league, Dave Benezra and Mark Mayemura have to go and start messing with the schedules. . . probably some college coach requesting a change. . . .geez, do they have to be soooo responsive, after all these guys are just college coaches. . . . In any event, here's the revised schedule for this weekend, followed up by the rosters from two weeks ago, which are, as far as we know, the current rosters for this weekend.

We know that there are bound to be some conflicts this weekend with the Double Pump Easter Tournament which will also be running Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Cal State Dominguez Hills, so it's likely you'll see some guys listed on the rosters below at the Pump event, and likewise, there will be some teams at the Pump event who will list guys on their rosters who will also be at the RSL, but that's life and we don't have our crystal ball working, nor can we read the minds of 16 and 17 year olds to determine where they'll really wind up this weekend. But the rosters below are a pretty good guide about who you're likely to see if you show up at LA City College for the RSL. See you there.
