WSS Scholastic Hoops Jam Reminder:
Saturday At LA Southwest College--(May 9, 2000)

Even though there won't be underclass games for boys or girls like last year, the 2nd Annual Scholastic Hoops Jam, sponsored by Warehouse Shoe Sale and Reebok, will still go on as scheduled this Saturday night at Los Angeles Southwest College. There will be two games, one for the boys senior all-stars, and the other for the girls senior all-stars, and both games will feature a "Southern Section v. LA City Section" format.   The girls' game will get started at 6:00 p.m. and the boys' game will start thereafter, at approximately 8:00 p.m.

We've already posted the rosters for these games in an earlier announcment, so we won't do it again here, but suffice it to say, this game will feature some of the top boys and girls players in the region, and for many of them, it will be the last time to see them play locally before they head off to college.  Of course some will continue to play this summer in the Say No Classic League, but others will be leaving early for their intended destinations.  And for some of these guys, who will play for teams in conferences which rarely, if ever, play on the West Coast, this will truly be a last time to see them perform locally.

The games will be preceded by a banquet which will take place on Friday night to honor not only the senior athletes, but also all of the invited underclass players who could not participate due to State CIF restrictions.  Tickets for the banquet, which will feature speakers such as UCLA assistant coach Michael Holton and others are still available, as are tickets to the games.

Advance Tickets are available at any Warehouse Shoe Sale, Call (800) 276-2002 for a location near you. Remaining tickets will be available at L.A. Southwest College on the day of the games.

If you have any questions or would like further information feel free to contact Ken Miller at (310) 715-9300 ext. 257.
