adidas Double Pump 2000 "Best
Of Summer"
Tournament Teams--(June 16, 2000)
What: | adidas Double Pump Best of Summer Tournament |
Where: | Cal State Dominguez Hills, Rolling Hills Prep |
When: | July 20-24, 2000 |
Who: | 108 Top Travel, Club & HS Teams |
The adidas Big Time tournament, the largest single high school and travel team exposure tournament in the country, will take place in Las Vegas from July 15-19, and it will feature 300 teams this year, up from 250 last summer. The Big Time will be immediately followed by two other tournaments to be held in Los Angeles, the Slam N Jam NIT, which is held at Long Beach State, and the adidas Double Pump "Best of Summer" Tournament, held at Cal State Dominguez Hills and at Rolling Hills Prep in Torrance.
While the Slam N Jam NIT has always been good, and usually features some of the top Nike-sponsored teams in the country, including Dominguez/The Hood, Riverside Church, and others, it's always a mystery right up until a few weeks before the tournament who is really coming and who isn't . But with the Best of Summer, we always manage to find out who is coming way in advance, and this year, the Best of Summer could well be the second biggest tournment in the country this summer. With 108 teams, this thing will be huge. And as we said, we have a list of who is going to be playing. Top teams will include Pump N Run, which will feature three teams ( two national/California teams, and another predominantly Arizona-based team), and many of the top national teams including the Atlanta Celtics, Michigan Mustangs, DC Assault, Nebraska, Dallas Dirty Dozen, Minnesota Select, KC ACT, Newark Rams, Gym Rats, Sam Rines, Hunting Park, Beach Ball Select, Alabama Ice, and so many others. We'll have some of the top team rosters posted shortly in anticipation of the tournament, but in the meantime, here's the complete list of teams coming to Dominguez Hills from July 20-24. :

Not a bad lineup. . . . Hopefully, after the camps and Vegas, we'll still be able to focus long enough to provide the usual coverage you've come to expect.
See you there.
