Camps: adidas Double Pump West Coast
All Star Camp Opens Tomorrow--(July 6, 2000)

wcallstarcamp.gif (6096 bytes)

What:

adidas Double Pump West Coast All Star Camp

Where:

Cal State Dominguez Hills

1000 E. Victoria, Carson, CA

When:

Session #1:  July 7 through 10, 2000
Session #2:  July 11 through 14, 2000

Who:

300 top players, many D-I coaches

While both ABCD and Nike Camps are happening a half a continent away (or is it a whole continent?) many other top players will be attending other regional camps taking place during the first days of the July open evaluation period.  One of the best and most well-known of these camps is the adidas Double Pump West Coast All Star Camp, which starts tomorrow, Friday July 7, 2000 at Cal State Dominguez Hills.

This year's version of the WCAS #1 will feature many top players from all over the West, including many of the best from both SoCal and NorCal, as well as players from Washington, Oregon, Utah, Idaho, Nevada, Alaska, Texas, New Mexico and several other states.   Admittedly, this session is not as competitive as the second session, in terms of the number of top elite-level seniors, but this session will also feature some great players, and many college coaches will be out in force starting with the Saturday session. . . .Coaches won't be able to be there on Friday, July 7 since Saturday is the first day of the evaluation period this year, so Friday will be used for scrimmage games and practices in the late afternoon,  and full blown games on Friday night for media and scouting types as well as parents and friends who attend.

But Saturday, the coaches will be out all over, and since D-I schools can have three coaches out during the open evaluation period, starting Saturday, July 8,  many schools will be sending one coach to ABCD, one to Nike and one to Double Pump. . . at least that's what we've seen in year's past, and this year should be no different.

Some of the top players at the first session will include:

We'll have the complete team rosters (at least those we know about) posted by tomorrow morning, although we know for a fact that there are more than 30 late additions to the camp from all over the West Coast.  We'll also be posting up the schedules for the camp, along with some notes about who the guest speakers and coaches attending will be, so stay tuned for more from the West Coast All-Star Camp, Session 1.

Again, here's a map to Dominguez, which is located right near the intersection of the 405/91/110 Freeways, readily accessible from just about anywhere in SoCal. . . From the 91 or the 405 exit at Avalon, and from the 110, exit to the 91 freeway.
