LMU Picks Up Commitment From
PG Charles Brown--(Sept. 15, 2000)

We received an e-mail from our friend Calvin Andrews, coach of the Oakland Soliders letting us know that Concord De La Salle point guard Charles Brown (6'-0" Sr. PG) committed to Loyola Maryamount today. According to Calvin, Charles selected LMU over UTEP in what was a very tough decision.

Charles is an excellent floor general, really almost a combo with the ability to put it on the floor and to shoot or slash to the basket. We were especially impressed with Charles' play this summer at the Big Time tournament, where he, Joe See and Will Venable made up a very potent backcourt combination. We'll likely get a chance to speak with Charles sometime during the weekend up in Fresno and hopefully we'll learn more from him about his recruitment and some of the things he looked at in selecting Steve Aggers and the Lions.
