2000 Fullcourt Press Fall Showcase
Participants Announced--(Sept. 19, 2000)

What:   2000 Fullcourt Press Fall Showcase
When:   Monday, September 25, 2000
   (NCAA Certified event--Invitation Only)
4:00 p.m. Top 24 Sophomore Game
5:30 p.m. Top 24 Junior Game
7:00 p.m. Top 48 Senior Game
8:30 p.m. Top 24 Senior Game
Where:   Long Beach Millikan School

This will be a great way to cap the SoCal portion of the NCAA fall "open evaluation/contact" period (there's still one more tournament in two weekends, the Arizona Preps Fall Hoops Tournament).    Starting this Friday, will be the adidas Double Pump "Fall Premier Tournament" which will run from Friday through Sunday, and then on Monday many of the college coaches in town will stick around to see the 2000 Fullcourt Press Fall Hoops Showcase which features at least a dozen legitimate top 100 players, and at least one future NBA first rounder next year at least if what we're hearing is even halfway accurate about what Tyson Chandler is going to do. . . .but also don't be surprised if he shocks a lot of people (see related article).

We received a partial list of invitees for this year's 2000 Fullcourt Press Fall Showcase which Dinos released today, and as you see, the event is loaded with talent.  As noted above, there will be two "Top Senior" games, a "Top 48" game at 7:00 p.m., followed by a "Top 24" Senior game at 8:30 p.m.   The day will start with the top soph game at 4:00 p.m. (sorry, no frosh game), followed by the Top 24 Junior game at 5:30 p.m.   The players who have been invited and who are expected to participate include:

Last year's event attracted college coaches from all over, including Roy Williams, Tubby Smith, Bobby Huggins, Jim Calhoun, Ernie Kent, Lorenzo Romar, Steve Fisher, Steve Lavin, Ben Braun, and many others. The event is a single day showcase game which features top players in each class, and this year you can expect to see some great action. In the past few years, this event has showcased players like Tyson Chandler, Travon Bryant (Missouri signee), Tito Maddox (Fresno State), Gilbert Arenas (Arizona), David Bluthenthal (USC), Tony Bland (Syracuse/San Diego State), Julius Barnes (Stanford), Joe Shipp (Cal), Wesley Stokes (Missouri), Andrew Zahn (Arizona), Omar Weaver, Ellis Myles (Louisville), Marcus Moore (Washington State), Brian Wethers (Cal), Tommy Johnson (Washington State), E.J. Harris (Washington State), Josh Childress, Dijon Thompson, Dommanic Ingerson, Isaiah Fox, Chad Bell, Errick and Derrick Craven (committed to USC) and J.S. Nash (committed to Oregon State).

The rosters are loaded and this promises to be a great event.  If you need further information, you can contact Dinos Trigonis at (562) 984-8355 or (310) 669-2307.

See you there.
