Santa Barbara's Dommanic Ingerson
Commits To Michigan--(Sept. 15, 2000)

Santa Barbara HS standout player, all CIF selection, and one of SoCalHoops Top 20 senior shooting/combo guards, Dommanic Ingerson (6'-3" Sr. SG/PG), a transfer from Oakland McClymonds to Santa Barbara who proceeded last season to light up the Southern Section of CIF, has verbally committed to play at the University of Michigan next fall.

When we posted our recap report about the 2000 Fullcourt Press Fall Hoops Classic from last weekend, we noted that Dommanic wasn't in attendance at the tournament because "his 805 club team didn't play."   Of course that was true, but only partially correct because, Dommanic was also busy last weekend on an official visit to Ann Arbor last weekend, which may also have explained why 805 didn't play.

Michigan coach Brian Ellerbee visited Ingerson last night at his home in Santa Barbara, and during the visit Dommanic committed.  He will provide instant high energy offense to the Wolverines with great ball handling and precise and solid shooting from just about anywhere on the court.

Ingerson had been recruited by many high-major schools, including Cal, Georgetown, St. Louis, and he reportedly also attracted early interest from UCLA as well. Many felt that Ingerson would be well suited to play at Cal and a lot of local Bay Area fans were hoping that he would return back to the Oakland area, but Michigan is a great environment for him.  Congratulations to Dommanic and to the Wolverines.
