Others From SoCal Attend
Midnight Madness In Joisey--(Sept. 25, 2000)
We get mail: In addition to the word we received about Scott Borchart committing to Santa Clara, we also heard from David I. "Rockfish" Benezra, head fish at the Rockfish organization, who wanted to also let us know that in addition to Cody Pearson (6'-4" Sr. G/F) from Sherman Oaks Notre Dame, Dijon Thompson (6'-7" Sr. SF/SG/PG) from Redondo Union, and Harrison Schaen (6'-8" So. PF) from Mater Dei, there were a couple of other SoCal natives and semi-inhabitants at the gym in Cherry Hill East HS this past weekend, and they included Tim Drisdom (6'-3" Jr. PG/SG) of Calvary Chapel in Downey, and another two Rockfishies: Julian Sensley (6'-8" Sr. PF) who won two awards (MVP of his team and the "Kobe Bryant" Award as the most promising player prospect at the event), and Solomon Brown (6'-1" Sr. PG) who has committed to Iona. Solomon (who sometimes also goes by the sobriquet of "Chili" a name we just can bring ourselves to use--sorry Dave, but not everything or everyone needs a food nickname :^)), played in the senior game and he scored an impressive 22 points in the first half and was also named the MVP of that game.
