SoCal Players: Other Weekend Visits--(Oct. 1, 2000)

We already reported that Andre Patterson was in Michigan this past weekend, that Josh Childress was at Stanford along with Chris Hernandez, and that Dijon Thompson was at UCLA, but there were more visits taking place this weekend, and it's possible that there will be some news of commitments shortly. Here are some other key on-campus visits that we know about which took place this weekend (and one which didn't):

Jamal Sampson (6'-11" Sr. C) visited at St. Louis this weekend visiting with Lorenzo Romar and his staff and reportedly enjoyed the trip.  PacWestHoops has the details.

Isaiah Fox  (6'-8" Sr. PF) did NOT visit the University of Oklahoma and Kelvin Sampson and staff this past weekend.  Fox has a visit planned for October 21, 2000 according to our sources and he is still considering a number of schools, including Oklahoma, Cal and others.  Tracy Pierson also has some speculation and information from and about Fox at PWH.

Dustin Villepigue (6'-9" Sr. PF) from Simi Valley, took a trip to Gonzaga this weekend and really enjoyed it.  Is he close to a commitment:  "I'm getting closer to making up my mind, but I'm not quite there yet," he told us.  Dustin has thus far had in-home visits with UCSB, Gonzaga, St. Louis, SMU, and a few others.  Is Gonzaga the leader right now.  "I haven't made up my mind," Dustin said.  "I'm on the verge, but not quite there yet and I've got a few more things to think about."
