We're not sure we're actually going to call ourselves the "Unofficial" site of the Reebok Holiday Prep Classic, principally because we're not sure just how much time we're going to devote to this thing this year, what with the Rim Rattler Holiday Prep Classic taking place at the same time here in Long Beach. There is actually an official site of sorts, which is one of the Rivals.com sites and they will be posting the official game results so everyone can keep track of what's going on if we miss a beat. We're still planning on being in Vegas for at least one day, possibly more, of the tournament, but with no Best in the West this year, and the new Rim Rattler Tournament going head-to-head at the Pyramid in Long Beach, it's going to be tough to be everywhere at once.
Keep in mind that the list of teams was developed and published in May of 2000, and there have obviously been some changes, not the least of which is that Emmanuel Christian, from Durham, NC, doesn't exist any longer, having a lifespan of about two months from the time the tiny school opened until it closed. Many thought this would happen, but it will really impact this tournament, and the long-awaited matchup of some of the ex-Mt. Zion players with the Oak Hill guys will just not happen this year. And those Mt. Zion guys who decided to stay at Mt. Zion and not follow the rest to Emmanuel, will be in Long Beach at the Rim Rattler Tournament. Oh well, there's still Oak Hill v. Mater Dei to look forward to. . .

Again, remember that this period of time in December in Las Vegas is a busy time period. Not so busy that good rooms aren't available (who really wants to be in a hotel in Vegas just before the Christmas holidays, really?), but because of the numbers of teams and fans in town for this tournament, some of the more moderately priced hotels do book up early, so if you are planning on attending, make your reservations early.
