2000 Powerade Holiday Prep Classic
Day 1 Complete SoCal Teams' Results--(Dec. 18. 2000)

Our friends at FastBreak Recruiting.com, who also do the Official Holiday Prep Classic website, have been kind enough this year to actually provide not only the complete scores and brackets (thereby saving us countless hours of typing as we used to do prior to the time there ever was such a things as the "Official" HPC website) but this year they've also posted the same box scores which used to appear the next day in the Las Vegas Review-Journal. They're not the complete boxes, but at least they're what you're used to finding in your daily newspaper: Scoring by quarters (well, in the case of this tournament, it's under Nevada HS rules, and they play halves, not quarters), and each players scoring totals. It's a lot better than nothing. . . So now we get to actually spend our time watching more games and typing less. . . sort of.

But since they've been thoughtful enough to provide the basic data, we're breaking it down just a bit to suit our particular audience, which is SoCal fans who want to know in particular how their SoCal-based teams are faring in the tournament. And just in case anyone had any doubts, yes, Mater Dei won, big time. . .they beat a team from Parkview Baptist 91-38, and yes, Oak Hill also won it's first game, over Al La Roque's Durango HS squad 88-53.
