Rim Rattler Holiday Hoops
Invitational
Day 4 Finals Schedules--(Dec. 21, 2000)
|
The Rim Rattler bracket worked out the way it was supposed to, at least as to the upper half of the bracket, as Mt. Zion beat Eisenhower yesterday to advance to the finals, and Mayfair and Long Beach Poly fought it out for the other spot in a triple overtime battle which everyone said was one of the best games they'd ever seen. So Mayfair and Mt. Zion will square off at 7:30 p.m. tonight at the Pyramid for the Championship and if you can't be in Vegas for the Mater Dei v. Oak Hill game, this is really just as good, maybe even better.
This is the schedule for today, December 21, 2000:
7:30 p.m | Championship | Mayfair v. Mt. Zion (Durham, NC) |
6:00 p.m. | 3rd Place | Long Beach Poly v. Eisenhower |
4:30 p.m | 5th Place | Compton Centennial v. Southern Lab (Baton Rouge, LA) |
3:00 p.m. | 7th Place | Long Beach Jordan v. St. Albans (Wash, DC) |
1:30 p.m. | 9th Place | Springarn v. Miami Christian (Miami, FL) |
12:00 p.m. | 11th Place | Chester (Chester, PA) v. Inglewood |
10:30 a.m. | 13th Place | Fontana v. San Diego Horizon Christian (@Goldmine) |
9:00 a.m. | 15th Place | Rice (New York, NY) v. Gainesville (Gainesville, FL), |
Here's what the matchup will look like, roster to roster:
Mayfair Monsoons |
Mt. Zion |

While Mayfair might have more guys on their roster, perhaps you've noticed that the players on the Mt. Zion roster are big. . . really big. in fact, every single player on the Mt. Zion roster weighs 220 or more with the excemption of the guards: Bailey is 230, Vauim 230, Licorish 220, Wilright 225, Thiero 235, and Lisimac 220. Mt. Zion has a new coach this year in John Lewis who has done some good things with his team which is currently (and unbelievably) not ranked nationally on anyone's top polls, not USA Today's, and not even the Fox Fab 50. . . guess that everyone thought with the defections of all those guys to Immanuel Christian, that this team would be a pushover. . . they're not.
We'll have the results from last night later today, but right now we just don't have the time to post anything else.
See you there.
