We got a little screwed up this week with too much to do and not enough time to finish it all, but better late than never, so we're uploading the last three days scoring details all at once. Tournament Game Details--12/7/00

Arroyo Tournament

Monrovia 58, Nogales 42--Monrovia (4-0), held Nogales to two 6 and 9 points in the third and fourth quarters in Thursday night's semifinal game. Nogales was led by senior guard Jeremy Mack with 15 points  Bryant Markson scored 12 of his game-high 22 points in the first half, knocking down three of Monrovia's first five field-goals. Gary Castillo had 10 points for Nogales. Ryan O'Hara hit for 13 for the Wildcats, shooting 3-5 from the line. Monrovia will face Los Altos (4-0) in the tournament's championship game on Saturday. Los Altos came from behind to defeat La Canada High School (3-1) in overtime, 82-77, in an earlier semifinal match.

Montclair 72, Arroyo 46-- Demetris Walk (5'-11" Jr. G) scored 21 points and Jonathan Candelo (6'-2" Sr. C) added 14 points and eight rebounds in the Arroyo Tournament win. Montclair (3-2) faces Bell Gardens in Saturday's consolation championship.

Los Altos 82, La Canada 77 (OT)-- La Canada High boys' basketball team outscored Los Altos by 15 points in the first quarter, and appeared to be heading toward its fourth straight win. But during the final 18 minutes -- which included a four-minute overtime -- the Conquerors outscored the Spartans by 20, won their fourth straight game, and advanced to Saturday's championship game at 4:30 p.m. with an 82-77 victory.  La Canada will be out of the Championship game for the first time in two years, and will play Nogales (4-1) at 6 p.m. Saturday in the third-place game, which lost to Monrovia, 58-42, Thursday.  Josh Allen and Brett Campbell led the way for the Conquerors, combining for 36 points in the second half and overtime. Campbell scored a game-high 28 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, and Allen tallied 19, including 12 in the fourth quarter and overtime. Canyon Tournament

Notre Dame 70, Valencia 66--Cody Pearson scored a career-high 41 points as Notre Dame held on for a 70-66 win over Valencia in the Canyon High tournament championship pool-play game Thursday night. Pearson hellped Notre Dame (3-0) squeak out its second tight victory in three games against Valencia (3-4), a team hampered by injuries to 11 of its 13 players. Senior point guard Albert Ingram scored 29 points for Valencia.  Michael Luderer of Notre Dame ended his self-imposed vacation after playing 13 weeks with the football team. Luderer was supposed to take a week off, but he changed his mind after the Knights barely defeated Quartz Hill on Monday.  The All-Mission League guard made two three-pointers in the final 2:18.

Quartz Hill 63, Monroe 58--Quartz Hill (5-3), behind 27 points by Tony Johnson, overcame a nine-point first-half deficit and held off a late rally by Monroe (1-6) in a fourth-place pool game.

Granada Hills 93, Alemany 43--Manny Cortez had 27 points, including five 3-pointers, to lift Granada Hills (3-4) to its first tournament victory in the fifth-place pool-play game. Evan Cline had 20 points for Alemany (0-3), which plays San Fernando at 4 p.m. today.

Newport Harbor 83, Calabasas 41-- Leading, 19-12, the Sailors (4-0) scored 23 of the game's next 24 points. Newport led by as as many as 43 points before Calabasas (1-4) found some fourth-quarter offense. Tony Melum scored all of his team-high 21 points in the second and third quarters. Greg Perrine chipped in with 17 points and Aaron Yarnal added 15 points.    Newport's defense, with a little help from some Coyote turnovers and cold shooting, held Calabasas to only 19 points in three quarters. Rialto Eisenhower Tournament

Eisenhower 88, Colton 45-- Dante Ruzan (5'-10" Sr. G) scored 19 points and had eight assists as the Eagles (3-0) defeated the Yellowjackets at the Rialto-Eisenhower Tournament. Junior 6-8 center Johnny Dukes added 18 points and nine rebounds, while Alex Acker had 16 points for Eisenhower.

San Gorgonio 74, Valley View 62--Shaun Buckingham scored 23 points, grabbed 12 rebounds and blocked three shots to help the Spartans (2-2) over the Eagles at the Rialto-Eisenhower Tournament.

Riverside Kiwanis Arlington Tournament

Redlands 61, La Quinta 60-- Down by 10 points entering the fourth quarter, the Blackhawks (3-1) missed two free throws with two seconds to go in the Arlington Tournament game. George Gutierrez led La Quinta with 23 points, while Aaron Aceves and Daniel Martinez chipped in 10 points each. Chris Marrujo led the team with eight rebounds.  Senior 7-foot center Alex Graham scored 20 points, took 17 rebounds and blocked five shots as the Redlands High School boys basketball team edged La Quinta 61-60 on Thursday to reach the semifinals of the Riverside Kiwanis Tournament. Senior 6-3 forward Bryan Roberts added 13 points and 12 rebounds for the Terriers (3-0), who survived a late Blackhawks rally.

A.B. Miller 87, Kaiser 63--Jacob Ramirez and Malcolm Taylor each scored 12 points for the Rebels (4-0) as they defeated the Cats (3-3) in the quarterfinals of the Riverside Kiwanis Tournament.

San Dimas Tournament

Don Lugo 58, Northview 42--Andy Galindo scored 18 points and grabbed 11 rebounds, leading the Conquistadores into the San Dimas Tournament championship game. Garet Hill had 13 points, Kevin Plutko added 10 and Raphael Asafo-Agyei contributed five blocks and seven rebounds for Don Lugo (3-2).

Diamond Bar 49, Bonita 45 --Jordan Holmes and Mark Jecmen scored 12 points each for the Brahmas (2-1) in the San Dimas Tournament, while Chris Dean led the Bearcats (1-2) with 16 points.

Alta Loma 56, Garey 55 --The Braves posted their first victory of the season in the battle of winless teams, getting 10 points each from Sean Moore and Yoseth Yaisreal. Jonathan Parkinson paced Garey with 17 points.

Twentynine Palms 62, Pahrump Valley (NV) 50--Ken Randle scored 19 points and collected 17 rebounds as the Wildcats (1-0) beat Pahrump Valley in the semifinals of the Silver Valley Tournament. Ray Hester added 11 points for Twentynine Palms.

Garden Grove 51, Whitney 41-- Sophomore Daniel Son had a game high 19 points in the Wildcats (1-3) loss to the Argonauts in pool play. Sean Tsai (Jr. F) also had 10 points and 10 rebounds for Whitney.

Century 44, El Modena 34--Celestino Johnson and Phillip Alves both scored 14 points to lead the Centurions (2-3) over the host Vanguards (2-4). Alves also grabbed 10 rebounds for the Centurions.

Desert Christian 37, Webb 36--Senior Javier Santana scored his only basket of the night with only three seconds on clock to lift Desert Christian Conquerors to its fifth win of the season. Joshua Johnson scored a team-high 16 points.

Fairmont Prep 62, Riverside Christian 41--Will Washington scored a game-high 27 points and Jon Chang added 13 as Fairmont Prep (7-0) defeated Riverside Christian (0-1).

Loma Linda Academy 54, Boys Republic 49 -- Markus Cotten scored 25 points and grabbed nine rebounds in the Rams' loss. Sophomore 5-9 point guard Ryan Prior scored 17 points, and 6-0 junior forward Kiff Rivinius added 11 points and seven rebounds as the visiting Roadrunners (1-1) eased past the Rams (1-3) in a nonleague game.

Pomona 76, Rancho Cucamonga 67--John Dang scorched Rancho Cucamonga for 31 points Thursday night, leading the Red Devils to a 76-67 nonleague road victory.  The Red Devils (4-2) led 43-21 at halftime.   Cougars guard Gerald Gilcrest scored 12 of his 22 points during the host's fourth-quarter surge, shrinking the lead to 59-52 with six minutes remaining. Gilcrest canned a three-pointer to make the score 73-67 with 19 seconds left, but Dang made the icing free throws. Forced to replace all five starters from last year's team, Rancho Cucamonga is off to a 1-3 start. Pomona received 13 points from Madison, 12 points from Odell Howard and 11 points and eight rebounds from forward Spencer Smith

Summit View 32, Bridges Academy 17--Gary Haddock had 14 points and the Eagles (1-3) won on the court for the first time in their three-year history at Winnetka Recreation Center.

Whitewater 96, Jack Weaver 19--Andre Connors pumped in 24 points, while Jason Hubbard and Malakai Maka chipped in 12 points apiece, powering the host Saints (2-0) to a non-league win.
