Concord De La Salle 49, Dominguez 46

Only saw about two thirds of this game due to some prior commitments and thus we didn't get the final stats, but Oakland De La Salle surprised those of us in attendance who thought that Dominguez would easily win.  And at least for the first quarter, things looked that way, but then DLS came back from a large first quarter deficit, and the game came down to the end as Tyson Chandler cut the Spartans' lead to 47-46 with a tremendous dunk with just 15 seconds left in the game.   Dominguez, playing without Darius Sanders (6'-6" Jr. PF) who was out with a torn meniscus, or Samir Hernandez (6'-7" Jr. F), who was ejected from Friday night's game for throwing some nasty 'bo's, never got any closer as the Spartans managed to pull out the win.  Concord De La Salle (14-4) was led by Charles Brown's 21 points. Chandler had 17 points and nine blocked shots for the Dons (17-4). The Dons had a chance to pull off the win, but Bobby Jones' pass to Keion Kindred was picked off by Sean Crockett, who was fouled, and he sank two free throws with just  1.4 seconds remaining.   Joe See (6-0 Sr. PG) who signed with Oregon State this past fall, finished with 13 points (9 in the first half).

Sorry, no official stats,  and the game ended too late for inclusion of the box score. .. maybe the LBPT will publish it tomorrow. . . that is if there's room with all the Super Bowl coverage. . .
