Catching up is hard to do. . . but we're trying. We'll have the game details from Friday and Saturday posted shortly too, as well as the stuff from yesterday (Monday), and some other news. In the meantime, here's what happened last Thursday around the Southern and LA City Sections. . . it wasn't much, but it's what we know. DTBM 67, Valley Aloternative 67--Valley Alternative dropped to 1-9 overall and 1-5 in league. DTBM improved ot 3-4 and 3-3.

Pasadena Marshall 84, Village Christian 54--Led by scoring threat Harvey Harris (senior center) the Falcons turned a 1-point halftime lead into a blowout. Harris turned up the heat to score 16 points in the second half
Freedom League
Masada 61, Wilson Creek 51--Sophomore 6-1 forward Jimmy Bailey had 23 points, 18 rebounds, six steals, four blocks and three assists for the Eagles (4-3, 7-5), who fell to the visiting Knights (5-2, 6-7) in a Freedom League game.
Heritage League
LA Lutheran 61, Pilgrim 34--Tony White had
21 points and Tony Park added 17 and eight rebounds as host L.A. Lutheran of Sylmar (5-6,
3-2)
beat Pilgrim of Los Angeles (2-11, 0-5) 61-34 in a Heritage League game.
Ribet 89, First Lutheran 15-- Ribet improved to 12-2 and 4-0 in league while First Lutheran dropped to 10-5 and 4-1. Ribet held FL to just 10 oints in the first half an d2 points in the third, 3 in the fourth. Gaines scored 11, Thomas 18, Woods 10 and 4 steals, Shead 7, Bassey 11, Schaferer 7, Clark 19 and 5 steals and 12 rebounds, Usher 4, Caldwell 2. For First Lutheran Stark 8, Go 2, Magallon 3, Hicks 2. Ivy League
Moreno Valley 75, Arlington 73 (2OT)-- Jon Conley scored the game-winning basket as time expired in the second overtime to help lift Moreno Valley over Riverside Arlington in an Ivy League game. The Vikings trailed by four points with less than minute remaining, but a key steal by Conley help put Moreno Valley in a position to tie or win the game. With four seconds remaining in regulation Pasquale Clarke made both free throws to send the game into overtime tied 57-57. Ronald Howard starred in both overtimes by scoring 14 of the Vikings 18 points during the overtime periods. ARLINGTON (73) -- Simon 21, Glover 9, Holgon 9, McAllister 6, Christie 21, Aguiree 4, Willman 3. MORENO VALLEY (75) -- Howard 36, Clarke 21, Norwood 0, Brown 5, Ashley 7, Conley 6. Metro League
Lake Arrowhead Christian 64, Christian Center Academy 59--Ian Cote' scored 20 points and grabbed 12 rebounds as Lake Arrowhead Christian snapped a 26-game losing streak. The Eagles' last victory was Dec. 11, 1999. Lake Arrowhead Christian, which trailed by 10 points entering the fourth quarter, outscored Colton Christian Center 26-9 to pull out the Metro League victory. Junior Steven Kinsley scored 11 of his 19 points in the fourth quarter to lead the Eagles. Freshman 5-8 guard John Moody had 17 points. CHRISTIAN CENTER (59) -- Livermore 15, Mejia 22, Travis 2, Haase 10, Gutierrez 5, Ramirez 5. LAKE ARROWHEAD CHRISTIAN (64) -- Cote' 20, Kinsley 19, Risden 4, Moody 17, Baltaxe 4. Halftime score -- Christian Center 26-17. Three-point goals -- LIvermore, Mejia 6, Ramirez, Kinsley. Total fouls -- Christian Center 18, Lake Arrowhead Christian 15. Fouled out -- Livermore, Haase, Heiser. Technical fouls -- None. Records: Lake Arrowhead Christian 1-3, 1-10. Christian Center 0-4, 2-13.
Mission League
Loyola 63, Notre Dame 53-- Sophomore Chris Rucker scored 14 points and sophomore Omar Wilkes added 12 to help Loyola upset visiting Notre Dame, 63-53. Notre Dame (16-3, 4-1 in league) let the Cubs score 10 consecutive points during a two-minute span of the third and fourth quarters to open a 13-point margin. Jason Sias of Loyola also connected on consecutive three-pointers. Loyola (13-4, 4-1). Michael Luderer scored 20 points for Notre Dame, but his poor shot selection early hurt the Knights. Cody Pearson had 18 points, but he reverted back to his days as a freshman and sophomore, losing focus when he worried about officials' calls.
Chaminade 58, St.Francis 49--Scott Borchart made eight of 11 shots and finished with 22 points and 10 rebounds for Chaminade (11-7, 3-3), which overcame one-of-12 three-point shooting in a Mission League game at St. Francis. Michael Jenkins was held to 14 points, his second-lowest point total of the season, as the Golden Knights dropped a Mission League game, 58-49, at St. Francis High. The 5-foot-10 senior shot one of 11 in the opening 16 minutes, contributing to an eight-for-30 (26.7%) effort by Jordan's squad. Eight of his 14 points came in the game's final 2:20 as he connected on two of his last three three-point attempts. The Golden Knights (6-9, 2-3 in league) trailed, 8-7, at the end of the first quarter, but that was with Chaminade playing leading scorer Scott Borchart for just 1:45. Borchart -- a 6-8 Santa Clara-bound center -- didn't attempt a shot in the opening period, but responded with 22 points in the final 24 minutes, along with seven rebounds. Despite nursing a sore right ankle which he sustained in a league game against Sherman Oaks Notre Dame, Borchart was a presence at both ends of the floor, altering numerous shots by Golden Knight forwards Bryan Gonzalez, Chris Miller and John Sciarra. Jeff Hufford scored 12 and Jordan O'Gilvie had 7. Hufford scored 10 in the second quarter. Norte Vista 62, Bloomington 61 -- Norte Vista narrowly escaped with a victory over Bloomington. With 20 seconds remaining and the score tied 60-60, the referees gave Norte Vista's Jermaine Horn a technical foul for trash-talking. Bloomington missed the free throw, Norte Vista regained possesion and Horn tipped in a John Hanley miss to give Norte Vista a 62-60 lead. Bloomington missed a free throw with five seconds left. Horn led the Braves with 18 points and Darnell Grigsby added 17, including five three-pointers. NORTE VISTA (62) -- Hanley 13, Horn 8, Torres 0, Grigsby 17, J.Horn 18, Rene 1, Edwards 1, Carter 4. Riverside MLK 81, Kaiser 62-- Marvin Lea scored 30 points and Leon Rosborough added 22 to lead Riverside King to a Sunkist League victory over Fontana Kaiser. Bethel Christian Riverside 72, Baptist Christian Hemet 53 -- Riverside Bethel Christian opened the second half with a 10-0 run to put away Hemet Baptist Christian in a Victory League game. Bloomington Christian 74, Calvary Chapel Moreno Valley 31-- Bloomington Chistrian dominated the glass, outrebounding Moreno Valley Calvary Chapel 43-16 in victroty league play. Aaron Rawlings led Bloomington Christian with 28 points, 19 of which came in the second half. Records: Bloomington Christian 3-1, 13-1. Moreno Valley Calvary Chapel 0-3, 4-7. L.A. Baptist 77, Malibu 41--Andrew Peterson scored 27 points to spark the Knights (13-4) to a nonleague victory at L.A. Baptist.
Calvary Chapel Redlands 76, Cornerstone Christian 33--Senior 6-6 center Chris Holz scored a season-high 36 points, and pulled down a career-high 21 rebounds as the Bears (10-3) defeated the visiting Eagles (7-13) in a nonleague game. Senior 6-2 forward Kris Cowen added 16 points and grabbed 13 rebounds for Calvary Chapel Redlands.
Tarbut V' Torah 54, Saddleback Valley Christian 28-- Noam Dashti scored 16 and Geoff Keith had 24 as Tarbut v. Torah improved to 15-0 with teh non-league win.
