Dominguez @ New Jersey Prime-Time
Shootout Next Weekend--(Feb. 3, 2001)

And we thought the regular season was supposed to end on Friday, February 9. . . That's when the CIF says that all "regular season" games have to be finished and the paperwork completed for the playoffs.  But there's still one more extravaganza event scheduled, it's just not in SoCal next weekend.  This one is called the "Prime Time Shootout" and it will be held in Trenton, New Jersey.   Remember Kareem Abdul Jabbar's "farewell tour" with the Lakers?  You know, the year he visited every arena and each team presented him with a gift in honor of his longevity in the league?  Well, this is Tyson Chandler's high school farewell tour to the east coast. . .and DaJaun Wagner's too, and a number of other top seniors.   If it seems like a cross-country trip to Trenton, NJ is a long way for Dominguez to travel for just one game, well, it is, but then this is payback time (i.e., the return trip) for the game last year with Roman Catholic here in Los Angeles.  And besides, it will give all the NBA scouts on the East Coast one more chance to see Tyson before this year's NBA draft. . .

Here's the official press release and schedule we received from Hoops USA's Eddie Oliver:
