Big Friday: Southern Section Game
Schedule For Today--(Feb. 2, 2001)

In Southern Section alone, more than 350 teams will be in action today, playing 178 games by our count.  Virtually every league is in action, and most teams are now down to their last three or four games (some with only two more to play) during the regular season.   There are only two more Fridays in the regular league season before the playoff seedings are announced on Sunday, February 11, and the final league games will be played on February 9.   For tonight's games, many league races are still undecided and every game counts.   We've already posted the City Section schedules (go to the Daily Articles, and look for the link "City Schedules" at the top of the page--and virtually every City Section team will be playing today as well, making the total number of games being played today in SoCal well in excess of 250 if you also include the Central and San Diego Sections which are also going at full throttle).  

Here's the schedule for the Southern Section games.  We can't verify that all of these games will actually take place nor can we swear that the locations shown are correct.  If you go and there's no game, don't blame us.  Check your local  newspaper, or better yet call the school before you head out there, because these schedules came from the CIF Media Guide, and there probably have been some changes.  Caveat Emptor. 

With all the action taking place, there's no reason to be sitting at home.  Go to a gym. You'll enjoy it.  See you there.
