Price 97, Apple Valley Christian 40-- Price, the defending State Division V champions were just too quick for AVC, and this was 32 minutes of constant pressure and up-tempo basketball. The Panthers forced AVC into numerous turnovers, but several were also because the Warriors became careless or tried playing at the Panthers' speed. Apple Valley Christian's Tim Langel gave his team and a partisan AVC crowd reason to be optimistic by hitting the first shot of the game to give the Warriors a 3-0 lead. Then Price flexed its strength and rolled off 15 straight to take a 15-3 lead with 4 minutes, 47 seconds left in the first quarter. But then the Warriors responded with a 7-4 spurt to close within 19-10 with 3:06. It was as close as the score ever got. Price closed the quarter by outscoring AVC 11-6 to take a 30-16 lead at the end of the first. The Panthers then limited the Warriors to just seven points in the second, taking a 54-23 lead at halftime. Apple Valley finishes the season at 18-7. Tarbut V’Torah 80, West LA Baptist 74--Host Tarbut V' Torah (23-2) led by 14 at halftime but needed 16 fourth-quarter free throws to hold off L.A. Baptist (16-7). Geoff Keith made eight of 10 three-pointers and had 34 points and Noam Dashti had 26 points and 16 rebounds for the Lions, who play the L.A. Price/Apple Valley Christian winner on Saturday night.
