Adam Dohner Signs At Pt. Loma
Nazarene;
Anthony Martinez Verbals--(Mar. 8, 2001)
We meant to post this sooner, but because of the overwhelming press of getting stuff up about the playoffs, and some of our own personal matters which prevented updates at the time we first heard about this we were unable to get to until now. But better late than never. Here's a press release from the coaches at Pt. Loma Nazarene University about the signing of Arrowhead Christian's Adam Dohner (6'-5" Sr. F) and La Serna's Anthony Martinez who gave a verbal. The first press release is about Dohner, and the second about Martinez:

February 17, 2001( updated Feb. 20, 2001)\Adam Dohner signs with and Anthony Martinez gives verbal to Point Loma Nazarene University Men's Basketball
Head Coach John Block announced the signing of Adam Dohner, a 6'5" guard from Arrowhead Christian Academy in Redlands, California. "Adam brings superior defensive and ball-handling skills and is a tremendous scorer", Coach Block noted. "Adam has been our primary focus since we signed Matt MacGinnis from Villa Park," Coach Block stated, " With Adam and Matt we have two outstanding guards entering next year and we are very excited about the prospects." Block said.
Adam has lead Arrowhead Christian to a high playoff berth scoring over 27 points a game since he transferred in from North Carolina for his senior year. The signing last night followed another strong performance for his team (a playoff win) and for himself (another 35 point performance). Strongly recruited by several NCAA Division I schools, Adam chose Point Loma Nazarene University because of the location, its Christian program and his opportunities there. Adam is expected to be highly honored by league and CIF recognition when the season is completed.

Point Loma will be losing to graduation point guard Josh Williams and GSAC scoring threat Brian Frey, who had 28 points tonight. Next year the Crusaders will return GSAC #2 leading scorer B. J.
