No Rockfish Spring League This Weekend:
Resumes Next Saturday--(Mar. 31, 2001)

In case you didn't know this, every men's college coach on the face of the planet is in Minneapolis today, and those who aren't will be glued to their televisions this afternoon to watch one of the best double-headers in college basketball, the Final Four, as Michigan State takes on Arizona, and Duke and Maryland meet for the fourth time this year.

As a result, no one will be at LACC today or tomorrow.   No one.  Not even LACC Coach Mike Miller.   So, the Rockfish guys, Dave Benezra and Mark Mayemura,  were kind enough to the rest of us who would otherwise be at LACC, and they thoughtfully decided to put off the RSL for a week.

RSL play will resume next weekend at the usual time and place, i.e., all weekend at LA City College.  Next weekend, specifically Saturday marks the final weekend of the regular season of RSL play, and if this year's league seems shorter by one week than prior year's, there's a reason for that:   It has been shorter.   And the next two weekend's schedules are also different than what  we've been used to seeing in the RSL.  The following weekend (a week after next), there will be games only on Saturday April 14, which will be the finals of the playoffs, which this year have been split over two weeks.  Finally, the RSL All-Star games this year will take place on a Friday night (April 20) and will be held at LACC, rather than the usual Sunday series of games which go all day. The frosh-soph all-star game has been sandwiched in between two other games the preceding Saturday April 14. In any event, here's the complete schedule for the remaining sessions of the Rockfish Spring League:
