Former SoCal Player Skyler Wilson Wins
Hawaii State Title--(Mar. 8, 2001)

Many who have followed high school basketball and recruiting during the spring and summer will remember Skyler Wilson (6'-0" Sr. PG) who formerly attended La Quinta HS in La Quinta (that's out in the desert near Palm Springs for those who may be confused with the fact that there are two La Quinta High Schools in the Southern Section).  Skyler's family is originally from Hawaii, and this year, he returned there to play for the Kalaheo Mustangs (it's the same school that Julian Sensely would have played for had he not gone to prep school), and his father passed along some information about how Skyler did this year: "I just got back from Hawaii where Skyler helped lead his Kalaheo Mustangs to a 27-1 record and a state championship. Their only loss of the year came in the Las Vegas Tourney in December to a top team out of Utah. Kalaheo is ranked in the top 40 in the nation.  Skyler was named to the All-State Team and had a tremendous year. He's hearing from a lot of schools but is still unsigned." Skyler is a quick, solid passer and an excellent defender, fully qualified and he'd no doubt help out any program in need of a tough, scoring point guard.  Congratulations to Skyler and to the Kalaheo Mustangs on their State title.
