Canoga Park's Cecil Brown Signs
NLI With UC Santa Barbara--(April 18, 2001)
We have it on first hand authority as well as Recruiting USA's report (even if the official UCSB site has nothing yet, and there's been no press release) that Cecil Brown (6'-3" Sr. SG) from Canoga Park HS has signed a National Letter of Intent with the University of California at Santa Barbara. Cecil has been playing the past two months with the Rockfish Spring League (Dolphins), and has consistently been one of the league's best players, which is not surprising at all since he was clearly one of the most prolific scorers in the LA City Section, averaging close to 30 ppg this season. Cecil was also named to the First Team All-City team, and is one of the best shooters we've seen this year. He was, in our view, under-recruited all year long, ignored by much of the Pac-10, but is a huge steal for Santa Barbara. Congratulations to Coach Bob Williams and the Gauchos.
