Long Beach State Signs
Tony Darden To NLI--(Apr. 23, 2001)

We received word today that last Friday, Long Beach State signed their second player of the spring signing period, Tony Darden (6'-4" So. JUCO G) from Dodge City Community College.  We have no information on Darden, other than what is contained in the official press release:

LONG BEACH, Calif. - Long Beach State head men's basketball coach Wayne Morgan announced today the signing of Tony Darden (G, 6-4, 200, Snow Hill, NC/Dodge City Community College/Greene County HS) to a basketball letter-of-intent.

Darden played two years at Dodge City Community College and averaged 15.0 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game this past season in leading the Conquistadors to a 19-13 mark. A third team All-Jayhawk Conference selection, Darden shot .440 from 3-point range, .500 from the field and .820 from the free throw line. Darden averaged 6.0 points and 2.0 rebounds per game, while shooting .380 from 3-point range, his freshman year at Dodge City as a reserve. Originally from Snow Hill, NC, Darden is a two-guard and became one of the team's top scoring threats this season for first year head coach Brian Hoberecht.

Earlier in the signing period the 49ers signed Alex Graham (C, 7-1, 225, Redlands, CA/Redlands HS) to a basketball letter-of-intent.
