Capo Valley's Jeff Gloger
Signs With UC Irvine--(Apr. 18, 2001)

We received a copy of the UC Irvine official press release issued today, announcing the signing of Jeff Gloger (6'-3" Sr. SG) from Capo Valley HS, who also signed with Ryan Codi (6'-11" Sr. C) from Vancouver, Washington.  The Anteaters picked up a nice shooter in Gloger and while we're not certain that Irvine is on UCLA's schedule next season, it would be fun to see Spencer and Jeff play against each other.   We haven't seen Codi, or at least have no memory of it, but he sounds like a good player.  Here's the press release:

RYAN CODI, JEFF GLOGER SIGN WITH UC IRVINE
MEN'S BASKETBALL PROGRAM

IRVINE, Calif. --- Ryan Codi and Jeff Gloger have signed national letters of intent with the UC Irvine men's basketball program, announced by head coach Pat Douglass.

Codi, a 6-11 center, is a senior at Prairie High School in Vancouver, Wash. He averaged 18.2 points, 10.5 rebounds and 5 blocked shots this season. He had six games with 11 or more blocked shots and his 5 blocks per game set a Greater St. Helens League record. Codi was selected first team all-district, first team all-league and first team all-city as Prairie High reached the state 4-A semifinals.

Gloger, a 6-3 guard, was an All-South Coast League and All-Orange County selection at Capistrano Valley High School. He averaged 13 points, 5.5 rebounds and 4.8 assists, plus shot 58 percent from the field this past season. Capistrano Valley, coached by former Anteater player Brian Mulligan, reached the CIF Southern Section I-AAA final in March and finished with an overall record of 27-4.
