At Oak Park HS--(May 1, 2001)

Today's Valley Edition of the Los Angeles Times reported that Ed Chevalier, the former coach at Thousand Oaks High, has been selected as the new boys' basketball coach at Oak Park High School in Oak Park. Chevalier coached the Lancers to 12 Southern Section playoff appearances in 18 years and had a 250-196 record at Thousand Oaks, including four 20 win seasons.  He resigned prior to the 1996-97 season.  Rob Hall, Oak Park's last coach, resigned in February and led Oak Park to a 19-9 record, including advancing to the Southern Section semifinals for the first time in school history.  According to the Times story, Chevalier will continue to teach full time at Thousand Oaks and will be a walk-on coach at TO.
